  • Errands
    • I mailed off my rent check. I also lied yesterday. This was when I shifted my work over. Super slackdom. Tried to get the readings for bio but they were the wrong ones so I jacked one article from George to read on the way to and from Japanese.
  • Classes
    • In Japanese we just studied grammar from chapters 3-5.
    • In prehistory we talked about the past as prologue then really skimmed over Patterson’s book on civilization, which was unfortunate because I had been assigned to talk about it.
    • In bio we talked about neanderthals.
    • In theory we started to get into postmodern critiques of science.
  • Nap/dinner
    • I don’t remember the order but I ate and napped. Then I got up and started working on my bio paper. Maybe it won’t be so bad.
  • Sleep
    • Sleep wasn’t too bad. Can’t remember if I double dosed or not.

  • Picked up Bev from the airport
    • Well. I finally shook myself from bed, somewhat late. Gathered some things. Got on the road. And after about 30 minutes I got stuck in a traffic jam that took me about two and a half hours to get out of. So Bev ended up taking a shuttle. And I missed my Japanese class. When I finally got to the end of the backup I saw that they were sweeping a bunch of glass off the road and the rear end of a semi was smashed in with several shattered panes of glass peeking through the cracks.
  • Sleep
    • Back at home I got a few hours of sleep.
  • Student Health Center
    • I stopped by PUSH to see about getting some stronger cough suppressant, but it was urgent care hours and it would have cost me $50 so I passed.
  • Stone then Library
    • I stopped by Stone and wrote up part of my responses for prehistory. Then I went to the library and finished the rest. While at stone I also shifted some of my paid work over to someone else. Whew. What a sick slacker.
  • Sleep
    • I double dosed on the cough syrup then took another one when I started to wake up in the middle of the morning and it did a fairly good job.

  • Buffalo Wild Wings
    • The day was slightly similar to those before though I was feeling better. I did some paid work for a bit then went to BW3s to meet up with the POL crew. Couple of new people and couple of regulars absent. I did some good guessing on trivia then there were no more games. I explained my current trauma to Fureya and her friend. I had a good time. They swapped a bunch of crazy ice stories at one point.
  • Library
    • After BW3s I dropped a book off at the library after a chat with my mum and dad. Dad advised me to get honey and Vaporub. Mom told me about T-day. She asked if I had talked to Laura and if Laura was still with that guy. I told her we had chatted a bit recently but that it was mostly just business and that I didn’t ask questions about that guy.
  • Pay Less
    • After the library I went to the grocery store and got some fruits, veggies, and meds. Among my more callous purchases were some buy one get one free cookies. I also made my first purchase of non-processed meat to make tacos.
  • Restless Night
    • The generic Nyquil I got didn’t suppress my cough very much so I had a very troubled night.

  • Slightly blank
    • Really not entirely sure what I did. I think I may have moped and finished some reading. Pretty sure I had another troubled night sleeping. It stopped hurting to swallow but I couldn’t stop coughing. Cough drops and hot water weren’t helping this time.

  • Slept
    • I woke up around 4 PM and found that it didn’t hurt so bad to swallow anymore. I ate a little and was up for a couple of hours then tried to go back to sleep because I still had a terrible headache. I a little bit of reading in at least.

  • Drove to Carmel, IN
    • Chris’ girlfriend said it’d be ok for me to eat with her relatives. Wasn’t that far away but I got a little lost at the end. Chris said they had the same trouble though. I need a compas in my car.
    • There was lots of diversity there. I think Bemmy’s uncle is Persian, so there were other Persians there. But Bemmy is…part Venezuelan? It was nice. Bemmy’s grandmother and great aunt were pretty cool. Her grandmother recited some poems later on and her great aunt knew about Key Cinemas — she said they showed interesting films there. They played Boggle together for a long time. I thought about getting involved but I didn’t know the politics surrounding it.
  • Chatted with Chris
    • We talked about debt and the future. I told him about my latest angst in W. Lafayette. Then we talked about Ukraine and the “customer’s suck” blog.
  • Ate T-Dinner after a prayer
    • We all gathered hands in a circle for a prayer then had dinner. I hadn’t eaten much all day and I got stuffed. Chris made a sweet potato dish and it was damn good. I think the mashed potatoes did me in though. I barely had any room for dessert later on. There was an Iranian dish made with rosewater that tasted like perfume. And then there was this persimmon dish that was pretty good.
  • Went to see Kinsey
    • After eating and saying our goodbyes we went to a theater nearby to see Kinsey. It was a really interesting movie. I enjoyed it a lot. Strange to think how liberal the times we live in are in comparison to what things were like then.
  • Throat tearing me up
    • I had serious trouble falling asleep because of my throat. It hurt to swallow but the stuff that collected made me have to swallow. I finally figured out to lay with my head dangling off the side of the bed so I could spit in a cup instead of swallowing. Eventually I fell asleep that way and all my spit stuff just drooled out.

  • Took Bev to the Airport
    • On the way to the airport Bev was driven half-mad by the appearance of various ribbons on the backs of the cars that we passed. She was happy to go home even though her family sounds like a freakshow. She told me about her love life and I said that she is heartless.
    • She got scared that she had left her cellphone at home but I called it and she heard the ring coming from the trunk so she was ok. Then I dropped her off at the airport half thinking, “I should make sure she has her cellphone,” but didn’t. So I drove away, then noticed that it was sitting in the crack of her seat, did a u-turn, and parked in the no-parking passenger drop off zone and got off to look for her. It only took me a few seconds to find her and she was mightily happy.
  • Went to the Mall Downtown
    • I figured I’d kill some time in Indy while I was there. Find a cafe to study at or something.
  • Talked to Kate
    • But I mostly ended up talking to Kate. She told me about some recent dreams she was having of this guy she was involved with sometime when and her attempts to interpret them.
  • Stopped by this chocolate place
    • They had chocolate covered gummi bears! Score! They even had some white chocolate covered gummi bears (but I later found they weren’t that good — hard).
  • And Barnes & Noble
    • Kate said she liked Angels and Demons because she’d been to the places that were mentioned. I tried to find this picture of Paris in her new book that Kate said showed personal hair but was unable. Had a plastic map of Indiana in my hand but decided against it (why is this important?).
  • Got a haircut back home
    • I stopped by the place where Bev got her haircut. It had just started to snow when I got there. My stylist said she has always hated the winter. We swapped “falling on the ice” stories.
    • I guess I explained what I wanted wrong though because she cut my hair way shorter than I had intended, but it still looked good.
  • Showed my dad and sis my new haircut
    • Jacqui said it looked good but she thinks parting it down the middle looks funny.
  • Rough night of half-sleep
    • My throat was giving me trouble so I woke up in the middle of the night.

  • Japanese
  • Prehistory
    • We talked about North American societies and the limits that food production put on the levels of complexity they were able to reach.
  • Stopped by library
  • Nap?
  • Videophone with dad and sis
    • My dad called and we chatted for a bit then my sister got on and I fired up the webcam on MSN Messenger. My dad asked to see my room and then I made a bunch of stupid faces. When will I grow up?
  • Went to library
    • I went to pick up this book from reserve that I had tried to get earlier but didn’t have my ID. There was a note in the book with my name but the guy was nervous so I had to come back. The snack machine with all the frozen goods was working though so I got a Twix Ice Cream bar, my latest addiction.

  • Weird dreams last night
    • I had a dream where I was carrying Laura on my back and I told her several times to get off but she just laughed and wouldn’t listen. Then when I knocked her off she got mad. This is actually pretty realistic.
    • Not sure on the order but I had another dream where I went to Laura’s house and we were hanging out and I was talking about how I knew we shouldn’t be together.
    • Finally, the really weird one. I was in a bed and this pretty girl came up and I rubbed her feet for a while. She had really light eyes, light tan skin, curly hair, short. She had really dark purple makeup around her lips though. Sometimes when she got close it would almost look bruised.
    • Then we were at my mother’s house somewhere in Mexico. Kind of a shanty house. I was talking to her while she ate and then she started to get sick, like ebola sick. She just kind of melted away. Same thing happened to my mom. Then these two Mexican women came out and while they were being a little menacing I tried to run away. I think they were trying to kill me too so they could inherit my mom’s stuff.
  • Japanese
    • Man, what’s up. In class one of the examples was someone getting dumped, and I got called on. Then there was another example about someone being so depressed they didn’t want to do anything. Nice.
  • Prehistory homework
  • Sick nap and another dream
    • My throat started feeling scratchy last night and then I could feel crap in it. I came home because I was feeling achey then took a nice warm nap. While sleeping though I had another dream. This one had Erin in it. For some reason she was staying at Laura’s place. Laura was watching TV and Erin was trying to watch over her shoulder and be inobtrusive. We went outside and talked a while then started making out. It felt really good. One of the sad things about my relationship with Laura was that I cut Erin out of the picture for the most part because of some things that happened early on. Now that that’s over though I should try and fix things.

  • Woke late again
  • Read for prehistory
  • Went to Buffalo Wild Wings
    • Some cats from Purdue Online were there for a weekly sort of get together. Some people I’d seen and a few new folks. It was an alright kind of thing. Good to get out of the house and around people at least. And they made me laugh a few times. One guy had a theory about four different types of guys with respect to anal sex: (1) No; (2) Some experimentation; (3) Those with small penises who feel manly when they cause their partner pain; and (4) Those with girlfriends who like it. This other guy said he was soldereing something like Michael J. Fox, i.e. with a very shaky hand.
    • They were all geeks pretty much. Lots of computer talk, which isn’t necessarily bad. I’ve got that side to me too. There was a guy there with a laptop and I tried to snark his alias but my stealth mission failed.
  • Started on Japanese speech – which took forever
    • I finally got over my resistance and started on this at some point and it took absolutely forever. I ended finishing it around 5 and staying awake until about 6. Madness. My speech is about how I’m bisexual and that’s why I’m studying sexuality. Somehow it’s easier to say in Japanese but more than not caring I needed the extra characters to reach the 600 minimum.

Where am I?
