I spent a lot of time on the Internet and playing games. In the evening I called SuzieCF.

I was up until about 7 or 8 a.m. from the night before then woke up at noon. We went shopping all day, had lunch at a burrito place, went to an electronics store, and then I took a nap while the others did more shopping. In the evening I got a surprise call from SuzieCF.
- Out shopping I bought some nice sandals and a thumb drive. I asked Darrell what kind of magazines he reads and he said only ones about making money.
- I was kind of glad that SuzieCF called but it was a very awkward conversation.

We all went over to a neighbors for barbecue. In the evening I talked to Bev and Chris about my relationship issues. In the evening I played a lot of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and found a possible place to stay, Sakura House. I didn’t call SuzieCF.
- The mother at the barbecue was from Winnipeg. I played DDR for the first time too.
- Bev and Chris agreed about the futility of things with SuzieCF, but I still felt pretty terrible.
- Vice City is a great game!

Josh asked for the phone at 6 a.m.! I got ready, had lunch with SuzieCF at Moe’s, then she took me to the airport. The plane ride was fine, then I had dinner with Darrell and my parents at the airport. At Yvette’s I had a long conversation with SuzieCF and she helped me to see why things couldn’t work.
- At dinner in the airport my dad talked about his terrible bus ride home from Jacqui’s internship town. He said it was hard to rest and that he’d never do that again. My mom said she’d enjoy taking the bus and we all tried to convince her that she’s crazy.

I read more methods, washed some clothes, did some packing, made some blog updates, stopped by Josh’s going away party, then hung out with SuzieCF. Back at home I did some more packing.
- I had a serious conversation with SuzieCF about my confusion over our relationship. We have wildy divergent perspectives and it could never work out, but I couldn’t feel a distance between us in my heart.
What’s my name?

There’s a good article featuring 11 steps to a better brain, and it made me think about my own memory. I can be absent-minded at times, but this isn’t necessarily something I attribute to memory issues. I do, however, have trouble remembering names — either personal or academic. I don’t like the typical mnemonic technique of coming up with some type of association, so I came up with something else to try — the alphawheel. I figure that as long as I can remember someone’s initials then I can come up with the rest, and to help me remember those initials I’m going to remember them as shapes and movements on this wheel. Maybe later I can do something with the colors too.

I slept from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. then met with Evie. I got some books at HSSE then went to the Lafayette Brewing Company for dinner with SuzieCF. Back at her place we played Scrabble and Mancala — I won every game except for one of Mancala where we tied. Back at home I did some reading on methods.
- This time SuzieCF and I talked about our mutual love of textures and her terrible sister who wouldn’t move in with her fiancee even after she got pregnant.

I did some more reading then started my outline and a reading list. I wrote a paragraph and late in the evening I took a break with SuzieCF at Steak and Shake. Then I went back and stayed up until 8 a.m. working on a draft of my proposal.
- Jacqui said she and dad got lost on the way to her to the town she’s staying in. She also said that her task is to figure out where all the cheese is going.
- SuzieCF and I talked about our mutual love of chocolate. Then how she tends to fall down. I also talked about gender performance and my femininity. In the car we talked about my pantheistic thoughts on GOD and lack of belief in souls. She also told me more about her insane neighbor.

I did more reading then went to campus, but my meeting with Evie got cancelled. I spent a lot of time in the lab working on an attachment browser in PHP for a message board I read. Then I stopped by the library for a bit and later went to IHOP with SuzieCF.
- I talked to SuzieCF about an article I read on the evolutionary unimportance of female orgasms. Then we talked about fanaticism and people’s experiences dating people they work with. I found that we shared a love for tattoos, office supplies, and stamps. Then she told me about her crazy stalkish neighbor.
