I woke up at 6 p.m. Watched “Desperate Hours” with Humphrey Bogart, which was surprisingly set in Indianapolis. Then I watched part of the Cube, which led to a huge conversation with Azza. I would have left the autistic guy behind, but she said you had to save everyone and defended this decision by pointing to his special ability. Much later I ironically and jokingly pointed out that she had tried to dismiss the Cube, but like the savant it had the special ability of giving us the chance to have a deep philosophical converstation. After she left I spent some time in cyberspace and worked on my notes.

I woke late at 4 p.m. I suprisingly made it to the interview I scheduled on time, but the guy showed up late, so I helped make name tags for a while. Shortened interview was still quite interesting, observed class, and then spent a lot of time talking to the new teacher during the montly party (apparently, Columbus, OH, isn’t that bad). Back at home I helped Tanya with some Excel stuff again. I couldn’t sleep so I played Final Fantasy I on my PDA using an emulator.

Continued from previous entry… Around noon I went with Ben and Blaise to the Senso-ji in Asakusa (for Ben’s last day). We managed to sneak in a trip to Meiji jingu in Yoyogi park before Ben had to meet with the Sakura House people to move out. I slept from about 5 to 9 and then we (Ben, Blaise, Tanya, Esme and Vivian) went to karaoke. After karaoke (and more compliments on my voice) we had a bite to eat at Yoshinoya, and then I stayed up with Ben and Esme until they left. It was kind of sad.
- Tanya went back to the house once we got there to get a phone number she forgot. We started to worry about her because she was taking so long, but she was surprised to find that we were concerned. We had talked about getting something to drink before going in, but they somehow misconstrued this as an invitation to buy lots of drinks to take in, which wouldn’t have been a problem if we’d had enough bags to hide everything. They didn’t even really understand why the karaoke place wouldn’t want us to take bags of drinks in. Tanya had brought this Korean guy back with her, but he didn’t end up going in with us because he thought it was too expensive. There was talk of going to the roof and then coming back, but I really didn’t want to go all the way back and deal with the randomness of trying to get everyone to return back to the karaoke place. Altogether, pretty absurd, and not in a good way. Karaoke was pretty fun, but I could have done without the smoke burning my eyes.

Here is a little audio adventure with pictures. We found some nightcrawlers and Blaise rescued some of them. Sorry, but I forgot to sound out bings telling you when to go to the next picture.
Hint: To start, open up the first picture. Then play the audio file. While you are listening switch to the next picture in the set at the appropriate points.

I woke up at 5 p.m. Later, I went for a Bikkle run with Ben and Blaise. Ben said it tasted like his mother’s milk: “It’s a feeling!”. Some time after I said I agreed, but it took him a while to get it. We walked around the park nearby and found some worms. Back at home I couldn’t sleep, so much so that I eventually took a trip over to Meiji Jingu. Day continues in next entry…

I went to the co-op, called Jacqui for her 21st birthday (!), then later helped Tanya with some Excel stuff.

Later in the day I took a trip with Esme and Tanya. First I got a small hamburger at Mini-Stop. Then I got some fries at First Kitchen, and Esme and Tanya got pizzas. From there we went to Ginza and looked around the Sony building. They had a nice Playstation floor, but Esme was even more bored by this than she was with the rest of the building. Esme and Tanya went home, but I walked around Ginza a bit more. I wasn’t able to find the Apple store that was supposed to be there, but I did find an Office Depot and the International Forum. It wouldn’t have been so bad if it hadn’t been for the rain. Stupid typhoon.

All I know about this day is that I woke up at 4 p.m. Also, from one of my receipts I know that I got some chocolate and cocoa around 3:16 a.m. Might have been a lazy day.

I spent a lazy day reading while spending time on the computer in front of the TV. Later, I watched part of Mindgame (which was quite an excellent piece of anime) on the roof with Tanya. We moved inside once it started raining. Haphazard Tanya told me about sleeping in the station when she went to Nagoya and this other time she slept at the station in France.

There was a good sized earthquake so I wasn’t able to observe the classes because the subway service was disrupted and I ended up wandering around Shinjuku station for quite a while looking at shops and people. I lazed around back at home then took a walk around the area, but I missed anything that was going on.
