Tire-d

December 20th, 2005 § 1

What a trip.

Carolyn and I left West Lafayette around 5:30 a.m. and everything was fine until I had a blowout somewhere past Urbana-Champaign. I just got the flat fixed yesterday, so that may have had something to do with it, but the tire exploded at a different part. Who knows…

Anyway, it was super cold outside while I was putting on the spare. This cop showed up to offer his help, but said he felt like a jackass because I was just finishing up.

We drove an hour to Decatur and Carolyn tried to make me get a tire at Wal-Mart. Fortunately, they didn’t have my brand of tires, so we drove downtown to a Firestone, where I bought an expensive tire ($100) and we waited a short while for them to fix it.

The rest of the trip was pretty normal, but now I have to figure out what to do about my very expired car tags (didn’t worry about it in Indiana), and I’ve still got quite a ways to go (I’m in Missouri).

Where am I?
