It's gotten to the point where I see pleasure everywhere and it's all that I think about. Yes, they did say pleasure a lot in The Importance of Being Earnest, but I was thinking about it in other ways. Such as, the different forms of pleasure that have existed in various historical periods.
At this point I don't understand why there isn't something like pleasure studies. I think that you could understand the majority of human behavior from this perspective. The easiest thing to answer, in my opinion, from a pleasure perspective is why there've been no revolutions. People are simply too satiated to get anything out of revolting. It isn't exploitation that makes people revolt. There is some threshold of displeasure that is necessary. In addition, people have to have the resources necessary to revolt. Pleasure does not exist in a vacuum.
