- 06/02/07 11:52 PM – Work. A girl was reading A Million Little Pieces. Then I went to Nine Irish Brothers to celebrate Carolyn’s very successful and long (three hours) defense.

- 05/29/07 10:24 PM – At work I was really happy to listen to Ian Hacking’s article on Goffman and Foucault. (I converted the text to an mp3 on my computer.) I only slept from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m. and was real tired.
- 05/29/07 10:31 PM – After work time passed.

- 05/27/07 09:27 PM – Work went by in a flash. I listened to music and podcasts, and thought a lot. I decided that my job is similar to driving. B7t it will probably only last until Friday, so I am going to go ahead and work tomorrow, though I may not get holiday pay. It doesn’t really matter to me… Today was somewhat silent. It’s a new shift, and these people aren’t as social, or at least not in the same way.
- 05/27/07 09:34 PM – After work I went over to Moe’s with Carolyn, Katie, and Patrick for a pre-emptive Mexican Monday. I made a bad pun — I said cool guys who play the didgeridoo are called didgeridudes.
- 05/27/07 09:37 PM – From Moe’s Carolyn and I went to get everything from our office in Stone, because they are kicking us out. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
- 05/27/07 09:41 PM – When we finished with that Carolyn came over to smoke — I tried a grape Swisher Sweets cigarillo.
- 05/29/07 10:24 PM – I made my first biweekly journal entry.

- 05/27/07 12:42 AM – I successfully woke up at 6 a.m. to make it to my job at 7 a.m., where I was until 5 p.m. (Some other people stay until 7 p.m.) After a series of questions they learned that I like to read, I read non-fiction, and my favorite author is a French historian. I found it amusing that Celine Dion’s “Power of Love” and Cher’s “Believe” played several times throughout the day.
- 05/27/07 12:47 AM – Carolyn came over after work and we hung out on the porch. She was happy to get a shoe shine from Hubert.
- 05/27/07 12:48 AM – Later I did laundry and got groceries. I also listened to a wonderful podcast with David Lynch about meditation.

- 05/25/07 11:21 PM – I got up later than intended to go to a couple more temp agencies, then I got a call about a job from Adecco. Drank my coffee, went over and finished some paperwork, then went over to Rexam Pharma. For my job I am inspecting these small black plastic caps for imperfections, but there aren’t many because they’ve already been inspected once. So far it’s not that bad, but we’ll see how long that lasts.
- 05/25/07 11:32 PM – After work Carolyn and I went over to Olive Garden for more soup and salad. Carolyn told me about some great house she and Katie are going to move into — it has a library with built-in shelves and a ladder on a rail.
- 05/25/07 11:59 PM – Later on I took a trip out to Target to pick up some speakers for work. Hopefully they’ll let me use them…

- 05/25/07 12:45 AM – Today was relatively productive. I woke up and went to Adecco, filled out application stuff, then took computer tests. I was sad that I only clocked in at 77 WPM, but in my defense the room got cold and I could tell that I slowed down.
- 05/25/07 12:46 AM – Came home for a pit stop, then went back out to another temp agency. This was a smaller outfit, and they didn’t have tests for me to take other than some math and faux sorting on the application form (interesting how different they all are). I think Subaru uses this agency, so it would be cool if I worked for them. Maybe I would get to use some of my Japanese.
- 05/25/07 12:48 AM – Later I took a nap, then got up for my Atheism Discussion Group meeting. The topic was about atheists and the UU church, but it went some interesting directions. For example, at different points during the meeting we talked about BDSM, homosexuality, burkas, and American Indians (it was in the context of how you discern whether or not something is harmful for someone). I also argued that we should be careful about saying that it is religion that we are against, when really we would just appreciate it if everyone supported their position with some type of evidence — which is a problem for many other areas in addition to religion. One member was also a little apprehensive about how big the UU tent is. The same member said he wished that we could simply ask for more of a reason than faith or “gut feeling,” and like the idea of the Toast Masters who give one positive and one negative, which buffers the damage that these suggestions can do. Like I mentioned at the meeting, individualistic Americans don’t take kindly to suggestions from strangers. It was a good thought provoking meeting — and there were only four of us there.
- 05/25/07 01:03 AM – In the evening I accidentally caught up on my feeds.

- 05/25/07 12:38 AM – Trying not to fall behind again… Maybe if I leave this open all the time. So, what happened. Ah yes, I finished some final touches on my resume, went to print some copies at the public library, stopped by a temp agency but ended up taking the application home to fill out.
- 05/25/07 12:44 AM – Later I went to Suzanne’s for AC’s party. AC brought up Dawkins, and I talked to him about my sermon at church, which lead to me talking about morality and aesthetics.
- 05/25/07 12:45 AM – From the party I went to Nine Irish Brothers to meet up with Carolyn, Katie, and Patrick — Carolyn was celebrating the printing of her thesis.
